Mary Stavin was born in Örebro, Sweden. After being crowned Miss World in 1977, she’s done various acting work.

Among her film credits are two James Bond movies directed by John Glen, one of the Octopussy girls in OCTOPUSSY and Kimberley Jones in A VIEW TO A KILL. After finishing shooting OCTOPUSSY, she travelled the world for more than a year doing numerous tv appearances promoting the movie.

Other work includes a co-starring role with Franco Nero in the movie TOP LINE directed by Nello Rossati. She worked with William Katt and George Wendt in the comedy horror movie HOUSE. Starred in the movie BORN TO FIGHT and the movie STRIKE COMMANDO 2 with Richard Harris.

Mary also worked with Italian actor Giuliano Gemma and Ernest Borgnine in BLOOD FLIGHT (aka The Opponent) playing Gilda directed by Sergio Martino, and starred in the movie THE DEVIL TAKES A HOLIDAY directed by Leon Corcos.

On television, she was in a couple of episodes of TWIN PEAKS playing the Icelandic woman Heba Thorsdottir.

She’s also toured the United Kingdom starring in plays Make and Break and Who killed William Hickey produced by Bill Kenwright.

Her most recent work includes the short THE CHRISTMAS PAUSE directed by Joe Stone and the upcoming movie BARKING MAD directed by Charles Dennis.

She’s also been a judge for two of the Miss World competitions. Also hosted the Miss World competition with Peter Marshall in 1986.

She was given the lifetime achievement award by Variety Club of the United Kingdom. The award was presented to her by Lord Mountbatten. Mary also performed at the Royal Command performance with Bob Hope for the Queen of England.
